MEMBERSHIP 2019
Membership payments for 2019 are now being accepted. The 2019 Stayner Chamber membership packages are printed and the website has been updated with the new fees. Just a reminder that a membership with the Stayner Chamber now automatically gives you membership with the Ontario Chamber of Commerce which provides you with information, assistance with your small business, and discounts. Please visit www.occ.ca for more information.
Early Bird Rate: $110 (applicable until January 31, 2019)
Early Bird Draw: Submit payment by December 31, 2018 and be entered in the draw for a free 2020 membership

WITCHES WALK
The Witches Walk was an amazing success this year! The event grew exponentially with 92 prizes donated, 250 passports purchased and 12,611 overall points of contact for the businesses. People who attended the event came from 36 different locations, both near and far and the total amount raised for The Door was $2,680.
Congratulations to all of the prizewinners and a huge thank-you to the organizers and volunteers for growing the event by 34% over last year!
STAYNER COUNTRY CHRISTMAS & STAYNER LIGHTS UP CHRISTMAS
Two great events in one magical night this Friday, November 30th!
- Come to Stayner and shop while the stores are open late from 6:00 – 9:00 pm
- Vote on your favourite window display. (Prize money for the winners will be donated to the Stayner Food Bank)
- Come to the Stayner Park gazebo to watch the tree lighting at 7:00 pm
- Sing with the carollers
- See the lit-up tractor from Earth Power
- Write a wish and hang it on the Wish Tree
- Get your photo with Santa
- Enjoy free hot chocolate from Tim Hortons
- Head to Coffee Culture for story time with Mrs. Clause
- Bop to the music from DJ Nation and enjoy the decorations of the park!
STAYNER BUSINESS CRAWL

UPCOMING EXECUTIVE CHANGE
At the AGM in May 2019 the following positions are up for election:
President (Term is up for John Squire Sr.)
Vice President (Interim term is up for Charlie Lewis)
Director: 3-year term (Term is up for John Squire Jr.)
Please start thinking about whether you are interested in running for, or nominating, candidates for these positions. The month of May will be here before you know it and our Executive will need to be filled. Get the ball rolling now so no one is surprised come May!
BRANDING WORKSHOP
It was discussed at the last meeting that the Stayner Chamber needs to have more consistent branding with our events and marketing. It was even suggested that an overall event chair be added as a position to oversee all of the chairs of the Chamber events. It was eventually decided that the Chamber would hold a branding meeting to decide upon the information that must stay consistent for the Chamber and to provide a document to guide future Chamber members. All Stayner Chamber members are welcome to attend to lend their voice and ideas for the meeting. This meeting will especially be important to those members who chair the Chamber events or help with marketing in any way. Tamara Culham has offered to facilitate the meeting. More information (date, time, etc.) will be provided once it is decided upon. Please keep a close eye on your e-mails for this future information!
GARDEN TOUR
The idea for a Clearview Township Garden Tour was brought up at the last meeting. The idea was met with positivity and more research will be done in the upcoming year. If the Garden Tour goes ahead it will be planned for the year 2020 to allow enough time to organize it thoughtfully and well.
EDENVALE AERODROME MUSEUM
The former Toronto Aerospace Museum has found a new home for its historic aircraft collection at the Edenvale Aerodrome. The grand opening of the museum has not yet been announced but it was suggested at the meeting that the Chamber consider organizing an event (parade or other) to celebrate the opening of this new attraction in Stayner. More research will be done on the museum’s opening and whether the Chamber can organize an event in conjunction with the opening.
