Dear Chamber Member,
It’s with great pleasure that I tell you that Music, Market and Park It will return this summer and will include 13 concerts, starting on June 6.
As in the past, the market will start at 5 p.m. and the concerts will begin at 7 p.m. and run until 9 p.m.
We kick off the concert series on June 6 with The Jim Kinnear Trio. Jim is a talented jazz musician from the Clearview Township community of Nottawa.
Other great bands performing this summer include:
June 13 – Two Guys With Guitars. This group plays rock music, they played in the market last year and received many great comments.
June 20 – Not Ottawa. This rock group from Nottawa has a strong following. You won’t be disappointed
June 27 – Greg Holmes. This country group are from the Shelburne area, they play classic country and western music, they played last and with many great comments.
July 04 – Strange Potatoes. This Collingwood-area band plays rock music and always puts on a fun, exciting show.
July 11 – Highway 26. If you enjoy rock and blues don’t miss out on this group. And they're from the Friendly Town of Stayner.
July 18 – Dusty Roads Band are a newly formed group of familiar faces playing contemporary country.
July 25 – Southern Comfort. A local country group, these musicians perform classic and more contemporary country music.
Aug 01 – Coming of Age are a young local group, these musicians play rock music. Don’t miss this your local group.
Aug. 08 – Huronia Hot Strings. Another new band this playing Gypsy Jazz style of music.
Aug. 15 – 50 Years Late. A young local group, they provided entertainment last year and were very popular. They play great rock music.
Aug. 22 – Austin McCarthy—This Collingwood area rock musician plays rock music.
Aug. 29 – Shipyard Kitchen Party- another new band this year play folk/pop music. This band will finish out our season.
Now, while we all know Music, Market and Park It is a great summertime event that is free to the public, it does require sponsorship support to pay for all of the groups. And that’s where you – as a chamber member – can help make this 17th year possible. Our gold sponsorship level is $500 and a silver level is available for $250.
Sponsor business names will be included on promotional signage at each concert, will be mentioned on social media, and on the chamber website. Sponsors will also get to pick an evening to come out, mingle with the crowd and assist with the weekly 50/50 draw as well as being announced and thanked for your support from the stage.
If you would like to sponsor a concert or if you have any questions, please contact Chamber President John Squire at 705-444-4668. Cheques will be due by Friday, May 11th. They are payable to: The Stayner Chamber of Commerce and can be dropped off at Stayner Home Hardware or give me a call I can pick them up.
