CLEARVIEW CHAMBER OF COMMERCE UPDATE
The business license for the Clearview Chamber of Commerce name has been purchased and our name has been changed on all media platforms (main website, ShopStayner website and Facebook).
With the new name has come a new Mission Statement to reflect our focus moving forward:
The Clearview Chamber of Commerce advocates for its members by providing meaningful, educational and supportive resources for businesses. It offers additional platforms for networking, marketing and promotion, and drives a stronger local economy through its events. Working closely with other likeminded organizations helps accomplish these goals and create a stronger economic community.
The next order of business is a new logo! We are asking for the public to create it. All logos must be submitted by Friday, January 10th, 2020, and will be brought to the General Chamber meeting on Wednesday, January 15th to be voted upon. If your logo is chosen, you will be honoured with a dinner for two at a local Clearview restaurant of your choice for up to $100 (alcohol not included). You choose the restaurant; we pay the bill! Your name and logo will also be acknowledged in a press release to local media to honour and celebrate your creation.
The Clearview Chamber of Commerce is excited to have our new logo designed by a local artist or business. We are happy to be engaging our local artists in this project and look forward to honouring their creation for years to come!

WORKSHOP SERIES
The last workshop of 2019 was well attended. Bookkeeping 101 with Colleen Bannerman of Wasaga Tax & Accounting was very informative. More workshops will be coming in 2020 and the first one will be on Websites. Stay tuned for upcoming workshops info and dates!

WITCHES WALK
The Witches Walk was another amazing success this year! The Witches Walk and announced that they raised $2,100 and the recipients of the money raised are:
Clearview Community Theatre - $500

Creemore Kids Club -$500
New Lowell Public School - $100 (for nutrition program)
Creemore Public - $100 (nutrition program)
Clearview Meadows - $100 (nutrition program)

Congratulations to the organizers Tamara Culham and Lisa Squire for putting on this fantastic event, and to all the volunteers and helpers who made it run smoothly!
WHITE WEDNESDAY
The Chamber’s first White Wednesday sales event went well. Many who participated were impressed with the number of stores that participated in the first event. The store windows looked really nice and many had increased sales that day.
Thank you to all the stores who participated and also to Troy Disabato and Charley Lewis who did the leg work to get all our businesses involved in this great day.
STAYNER COUNTRY CHRISTMAS AND TREE LIGHTING
On Friday December 6th from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm the Stayner Country Christmas and Tree Lighting will take place at Station Park! Santa will be there and photos with Santa will take place in the Visitor Centre, which will be decorated. Paw Patrol will be there for the kids! There will also be a choir singing carols and local dealerships will have decorated cars and tractors at the gazebo. Tim Hortons will supply the hot chocolate and Shawn’s Cookery is providing soup. Torn Pages will also be doing a book giveaway.
The Missionary Church will be having a spaghetti dinner at 5pm with carolling as well.
BUSINESS CRAWL
It’s Baaaack! The dates of the 2020 Clearview Business Crawl will be July 9th – August 21st. The Crawl will be launched at Music, Market & Park It in Stayner on July 9th and the passports will be given out at the event each week and in the Visitor Centre, as well as at the participating businesses. The goal is to involve 20 vendors spread throughout Clearview Township. Participants must collect 10-15 stamps in order to submit for a prize draw. The cost for business participants is $100 per member or $150 per non-member. The winner will be pulled at Music Market & Park It on August 27th for a prize of $1,500.

A reminder there is no meeting in December as it is busy for the holidays. The next Chamber meeting will be Wednesday January 15th at 6:30 pm in Council Chambers at 217 Gideon Street.
