Below please find a quick update on Chamber matters.
COVID-19 Info – We will continue to send information pertaining to the pandemic to you on a regular basis. We receive several e-mails a day from different institutions, so we choose the ones we feel are the most beneficial to send. We feel that forwarding all of the e-mails would be overwhelming, and therefore unhelpful, so we hope the information being shared is providing the information you need.
Interim Director – We are happy to announce that Cayleigh Jago has been voted in as Interim Director to fill Craig Raffan’s open position until this year’s AGM.
Executive Positions – Just a reminder, the open Executive positions to be filled at the AGM are as follows:
Treasurer (To replace Ramona Holm)
Secretary
3-Year Director (To replace Troy Disabato)
2-Year Director (To fill Craig Raffan’s remaining years)
AGM – As per our by-laws, the AGM must take place within 15 months of the previous AGM. We therefore have until September 8, 2020 to hold the AGM. The Executive will be monitoring the situation closely and will announce a new AGM date once the social restrictions start to ease.
Summer Student – Clearview Township has put the hiring of summer students on hold for now. There is no timeline on if/when this will recur.
Canada Day – Our Canada Day event has not been postponed as yet because there is grant money involved. We will therefore wait a few more weeks to see if social restrictions may be lifted in time. If it does not look like this will happen, we will follow-up with the Government and make an announcement about this event at a later date.
Music, Market & Park It – Clearview Township is looking into back-up plans for the summer farmer’s markets.
Business Crawl – This event has been postponed for now. Depending on when the social restrictions are lifted, we may consider running the event in September instead. This will be in consideration with event chairs Kelly Kramer and Cayleigh Jago.
Facebook – While the pandemic is ongoing we will continue to support all open Clearview businesses on our Facebook page, whether they are members of the Chamber or not. We have been doing our best in this area but we do not always see the posts that should be shared. If you see a post that you feel should be shared on our page to support an open business, please forward it to us and we will post it. We are especially lacking in posts from the smaller Clearview towns like New Lowell and Nottawa.
Chamber Decals – We are waiting for a quote on the new Chamber decals but they are in the works.
