KEY UPDATES

DECLARATION OF EMERGENCY EXTENDED TO JULY 15 AND STAGE 2
- In consultation with the Chief Medical Officer of Health, the Ontario government has extended the provincial Declaration of Emergency under s.7.0.7 of the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act to July 15, 2020.
- The Windsor-Essex region will enter Stage Two of the Framework for Reopening our Province today. Leamington and Kingsville will be not be allowed to reopen with the rest of the region at this time.

TEMPORARY EXTENSION FOR RECALLING LAID OFF EMPLOYEES
- On June 22, the temporary extension of time periods given to employers to recall employees laid off due to the COVID-19 pandemic went into effect. For more information please click here.

- Through the 2020 Youth Opportunities Fund, the Ontario government is investing more than $13 million to support community-driven and youth-led projects to improve the well-being of children, youth, and families facing economic and social barriers.
- Today, Prime Minister Trudeau announced that the federal government is launching the Canada Student Service Grant to give post-secondary students or recent grads who volunteer in their communities grants of between $1,000 and $5,000. There will also be additional funding made available to provide youth with work placements and skills they need to start their careers.
- On June 24, we were pleased to be joined by the Hon. Jeff Yurek, Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks for our Ontario Business Advisory Council.
