Preparing Your 2020 Taxes: Understanding the Impact of Government Supports
Every level of government has stepped up with supports for individuals and businesses this year to help see us all through Covid. With funding announcements made, details following, then updates to programs based on feedback from Canadians, the quantity of information can be overwhelming, particularly for business owners in survival mode just trying to see their way through to recovery.
Tax professionals are used to updating their skills and knowledge base, but this year has seen that proactive approach increasing tenfold, so we are very pleased that Nancy Stabback of Padgett Business Services is prepared to share her expertise with us. Join us when she explains the key items you should be aware of and tracking for your business accounting to be ready for tax time.
Writing your first business plan is a major step in putting your small business on the map. The point of your plan is to articulate the concepts that inspired you to start your business as well as evaluate potential hurdles like competition and funding issues. Whether you are seeking start-up capital or just want a solid road map to guide you through the early years of your business, a workable small business plan will help you work toward your goals. In Part 1 we’ll cover an introduction to planning, the contents of a plan, Executive Summary, Company Overview, Marketing Strategy and an introduction to the library’s market research tools.
Feeling disconnected? Join us for a zoom networking meeting - let us help reconnect you.
One of the key functions of the Barrie Chamber is facilitating business connections. We've been doing this on an individual basis these past few months, and we have brought back that personal face-to-face format while maintaining a safe distance in this online format.
This session we will be keeping the zoom open for an additional half hour for a post-event informal chat for anybody who wishes to stay and connect for longer. You will be able to talk in the main room or in small breakouts 1-on-1, whichever you prefer. No need to book in advance, just stick around at the end of the agenda :)
